ART IN THE CLASSROOM

Summit Public Art (SPA) is a strong supporter of educational outreach.  Each spring, In collaboration with the Summit School district, SPA reaches out to all the City’s elementary schools to introduce Summit’s children to the great public art in town.  Every 2nd grade class is visited by an SPA volunteer who teaches an Art in the Classroom lesson highlighting one of our permanent art installations and culminating in a related fun art project.  SPA believes these lessons enhance children’s appreciation for art and foster community pride.
