Valerie Larko is most attracted to city landscapes, specifically the fringes of cities, abandoned and decaying structures, urban waterways, and graffiti laced walls where she finds grit and beauty in equal measure. Larko’s paintings have been shown in museums and galleries in the US and Europe, and include notable exhibititions at The Bronx Museum, NY; The Jersey City Museum, NJ; the National Academy of Sciences in Washington, DC; and the American Embassy in Minsk, Belarus. Larko lives and works in New Rochelle, NY.
