Vincent Parisot’s elegant set of panels, Out of Scale, at 75 Summit Avenue, depict a dream-like botanical scene in charcoal and cream. A human silhoueNe emerges into a jungle environment. With raised arm, the figure’s height is inspired by Swiss-born French architect Le Corbusier’s mathema5cal theories along with those of Floren5ne ar5st Leonardo da Vinci. The lush jungle background is inspired by the French painter Henri Rousseau’s fantas5cal landscapes. This imaginary scene creates a contemporary fic5on where art and nature envelop, nourish, and surround humanity.

Location: The East Side of Summit at the intersection of Ashwood Avenue and Broad Street

If you’ve passed through New York City’s Grand Central station in the past six months, you’ve likely already seen the work of renowned public artist Eirini Linardaki. Now Summit residents can enjoy Linardaki’s work right here in our own town. In late July, Linardaki completed Summit Sanctuary, a 142-foot-wide mural that is now part of Summit Public Art’s permanent collection. The patterns on the mural landscape were inspired by designs on fabrics Linardaki saw as she traveled through nations around the world. Residents and visitors to town can view the mural on the East Side of Summit at the intersection of Ashwood Avenue and Broad Street.

Summit Beacon, like Pleiades, our other Ray King piece, is primarily made of dichroic glass. Dichroic film (created by NASA) is baked into the glass panels and results in the panels changing color as daylight moves overhead throughout the day. The piece is illuminated at night. This installation is Summit’s very own beacon of light.
